Welcome to Room 4. I am looking forward to a great year this year!
This is my 27th year of
teaching. I have taught at every
elementary grade level, K-6, with many years experience teaching 2nd
grade. I enjoy teaching,
especially this age group. This is
my thirteenth year at Columbia, and I love the students, school and our unique
community.
I will join Mrs. St. Claire, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Sampson as Teacher
Leaders and “Peer Coaches” again this year. We are excited about this opportunity to mentor or “peer
coach” other teachers as well as each other and help carry out our Strategic

Homework Policy
Homework is a chance for students to practice important study skills and
for parents to be in touch with what students are learning in the
classroom. I believe parents are
partners in your child’s learning and are your child’s first teacher, so your
help is valued and important for your child’s success in school.
The homework assigned this year will be home reading where parent and/or
child reads for 20 – 30 minutes per day, spelling word practice, math practice
activities, incomplete or overdue assignments, occasional special projects
related to our curriculum. Please
provide a time and space for your child to read and complete their homework
each day after school.
A Homework sheet goes home each Monday in their Home Folder and is always
due on Friday’s unless parents request an extension or there is a holiday. There will be no assigned homework on
weekends.
